Helpful Answers Before You Apply
General Evaluation: Institutions attended, dates of attendance, degrees awarded, and U.S. equivalency based on the credentials submitted.
Course by Course: Everything in a General Evaluation, plus coursework listed in detail with equivalent U.S. semester hours and U.S. grade equivalents. A GPA is calculated on a U.S. 4.0 scale when that option is selected.
Certified Public Accountant: U.S. equivalence of foreign study, detailed coursework, accounting and business credits required in Massachusetts, and official transcripts of work completed in the United States.
Each evaluation fee includes one official report and one unofficial copy for your records.
Our standard turnaround time is 7 business days after we receive the completed application, all required documents, and payment. Rush options are available for 4–5 business days (+$50) or 1–2 business days (+$150).
Turnaround times refer to evaluation processing and do not include mailing transit time. CED may verify documents with the issuing institution, which can affect processing time; applicants are notified if verification is needed.
Submit documents in their original language with an English translation unless the institution officially issued them in English. Interpretation is available for Spanish, Portuguese, and select French documents upon review. Interpretation allows CED to evaluate the original-language documents but does not provide a translated document.
Certified English translation is available for $35 per page.
Payment is submitted online with the application using a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover credit or debit card.
Submit a diploma or certificate and all transcripts or academic records in their original language, together with certified English translations when the institution did not issue the documents in English. Documents may be uploaded with the online application. Official documents may be requested after review or when required by the evaluation recipient.
Confirm the exact requirement with the admissions office, employer, licensing board, or other recipient.
General: Often used for employment, visa matters, or admission when transfer credit is not required.
Course by Course: Often used for admission with transfer credit, graduate admission, or employment in education.
CPA: For applicants taking the Uniform CPA Examination or seeking licensure in Massachusetts or another state that accepts a CED evaluation.
Complete the online application as a returning applicant. In Step 2, provide the year CED completed your evaluation and select “Additional copy of evaluation previously completed.” The fee is $30 and standard processing is 2–3 business days. One-day rush service is available for an additional $50.
